Danny Cassius Connor
As an amatuer Danny boxed at the Fitzroy Lodge in South East London. He joined Teamwilkey after his first Pro fight which was a draw. He lost his first four fights with Teamwilkey.
After a good talking to Danny went on to win ten of his next eleven fights and collected a fine list of titles along the way. The first one was a British Masters Light Welterweight title against the tough Tyler Goodjohn, Danny won this 97-94. Four months later Danny got to box Chris Evangelou for the vacant Southern Area Super Lightweight title on a big show held at the Alexandra Palace. Although the score was 98-94, the Evangelou team thought they had won it, so we gave them a return which Danny won again even easier than before by having Evangelou down in the seventh round with a fantastic body shot.
Next Danny was entered into the prestigious Prizefighter Tournament at Light Welterweight. In the first round he drew the very tough Charlie Rice which he won on a unanimous decision. The next man up was Ryan Taylor, Danny won this also on a unanimous decision by having Ryan down twice in the third round. Danny entered the final against the very talented Chris Jenkins from Wales, by this time Danny had sustained two perforated eardrums and unfortunately got stopped in the second round.
The next fight was a defence of his Southern Area title against one of his best mates, Tony Owen. After a controversial head butt in one round and a knock down in another which was also contoversial, he lost his title to Tony Owen by one point only.
Danny’s next fight was lost to Tyler Goodjohn, this was purely due to him not doing his weight right.
Danny’s next title fight was for the vacant Lightweight Southern Area title against Michael Devine from Luton. In the first round Danny boxed his head off and in the second round a clash of heads caused Danny a severe cut which required seven stitches and so the decision was a technical draw.
Danny had a second crack at the Prizefighter Tournament but was knocked out in the first round by Michael Devine.
The next fight was a vacant Masters Lightweight Gold title against Andy Harris, which Danny won by stopping Harris in the fourth round.
The most recent and up to date fight was against Ricky Boylan which was a local grudge match. Danny won this in front of a huge crowd, both boys having sold over a thousand tickets between them. The score was 97-94.
